Laboratory Services

Rockingham Family Physicians does have an in-house laboratory which helps us to better meet the needs of our patients. Having our own lab allows us to run a wide variety of tests in-house which means we don’t have to send samples/specimens to an outside lab to get results. However there are some tests that still do require being sent to an off-site lab.

Having labwork at the office does require an appointment, so the lab at our office is able to offer appointments Monday-Friday from 8:00am-3:45pm. We put forth our best effort to accommodate our patients by offering early morning appointments for patients who need to come fasting and afternoon appointments for patients who are non-fasting. When asked to come fasting, have nothing to eat or drink 12 hours prior to your appointment except for water or black coffee, no sugar, no cream. Call to schedule your bloodwork before you meet with the doctor, so that you can review your results the day of your appointment.

We are not able to accept lab orders/requests from outside doctors. We will be more than happy to provide you with the locations of local outpatient drawing centers such as RMH and Labcorp.
